Head of Religious Education job summary

The Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle and Directors of Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust invite applications for this position, to commence Easter 2026. You’ll support the formation of the whole child by driving and leading a culture and climate of learning where expectations are high, clearly communicated and consistently reinforced. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to shape the direction of the Religious Education department and play a pivotal role in securing excellence for all. We are looking for a leader who:

  • Is a practising Catholic.
  • Has commitment to nurturing and promoting the school’s distinctive Catholic ethos.

  • Has the ability and ambition to continue to raise standards in the Religious Education department.
