What skills and experience we're looking for

The Role of Head of School at Swineshead St. Mary’s Church of England Primary School

Are you an ambitious leader, seeking Headship within 2 to 3 years? At LAAT, we can offer you the opportunity to develop within a Head of School post, supported and coached by an experienced Executive Headteacher. You can access to a full suite of training and a comprehensive internal leadership development framework.

Our mission is to support and challenge our pupils to be the best that they can be in a safe and caring learning environment where respect, responsibility, individuality and co-operation are valued.

Our curriculum uses the mantra of, ‘Small Village, Big Horizons’, to promote cultural capital, British Values, high expectations and a love of reading. It celebrates our local context and the wider world, both nationally and globally. There is a clear focus on extending the experience of the children so that they develop a broad range of knowledge and skills that will give the cultural capital they need to succeed and leave the school knowing more and being able to do more. We encourage our pupils to be ambitious and resilient.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic, and skilled Head of School starting in September 2025. In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management, and daily operations of the school, working closely with the Executive Headteacher to foster a creative, positive, successful, and ambitious school.

The position of Head of School comes with the responsibility of SENDCo and we will ensure that any training requirements are fully planned and supported. We look forward to hearing from you.

What the school offers its staff

About Swineshead St. Mary’s Church of England Primary School

As in the gospel story of two travellers who meet and are transformed and enriched by sharing part of their journey with a guide, we view our work with children to be a similar brief opportunity to make a life long difference to their future lives.

For part of the children’s life journey we will have the privilege to walk with them.

During these years, we commit to ensuring that your child is enriched, challenged, supported, comforted and developed, to be the best that they can be in all that they do.
