An exciting opportunity has arisen with Shenstone School for the role of Head of School. As the Head of School you will work alongside the Executive Head Teacher, Senior Leadership Team, Governing Board, TKAT Trust and staff to develop the shared vision and strategic plan, which serves to inspire and motivate pupils and all other members of the school community. You will lead on teaching and learning and help to ensure that we consistently offer an environment which enables each child to achieve their full potential through the provision of quality teaching and learning at our specialist school setting.
Shenstone School is a special school for pupils who have severe and/or complex learning difficulties within the London Borough of Bexley. Shenstone School is located on two sites, Sidcup (for younger pupils) and Crayford (for older pupils). We work hard to ensure that Shenstone is a safe, happy, welcoming and truly outstanding place for our pupils to thrive. Our school benefits from impressive facilities across the two sites, enabling us to offer a wide range of opportunities and activities for learning both inside and outside the classroom.

Professional qualifications required –
• Is a qualified teacher with QTS
• Experience of senior leadership in a school (NPQSL/ NPQH)
• Evidence of relevant CPD
• Experience in a special school setting is essential

About Shenstone School
Shenstone School is a primary aged special school for pupils with severe, and/ or profound and multiple learning difficulties. Shenstone School is one school based across two sites which are 5 miles apart - the Sidcup site age ranges are from nursery to Year 3 and the Crayford site is mostly Year 2 – Year 6. They are supported by a dedicated staff team and we stand by our motto of “together we engage, thrive and achieve”.
Shenstone School was inspected in October 2019 and the outcome is that we continue to be a ‘good’ school, where the children are happy and learning is made fun.
We have been part of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT) since 2017. TKAT is one of the largest Multi-Academy Trusts in the South of England with over 42 Primary and Secondary Academies in the TKAT Family.
