Head of Science job summary






The Marvell College seek to appoint an ambitious, high performing and passionate Science teacher to the post of Head of Science who can deliver high quality learning across all areas of the Science curriculum.

The post will appeal to experienced teachers seeking a leadership role that provides the opportunity to improve the academic and personal outcomes of young people through science and to take the department to the next level.

The successful applicant will be an outstanding team player with the ability to articulate an ambitious vision for science education within The Marvell College. This will include a broad range of enrichment activities, that build a rich, vibrant culture of enjoyment and engagement throughout the curriculum. The development and promotion of high standards, staff CPD, a high quality curriculum, and assessments that inform and result in increased levels of pupil progress are key areas for development.

The colleague will work alongside a Deputy Headteacher who will provide training, support and guidance as required. This is in addition to the college’s bespoke CPD programme and support for external CPD where required. The college is part of The Hull Collaborative Multi-Academy Trust, and it would be an expectation that the successful candidate would be willing to engage with key colleagues within the Trust, working collaboratively to improve the provision from primary to secondary.
