What skills and experience we're looking for

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Head of Physical Education, to join Whitcliffe Mount School. The successful candidate should be an inspirational leader with a proven track record of driving up standards; a committed and flexible team player who can inspire others to raise aspirations, through an exciting and ambitious curriculum.

As a Head of Subject, you will be required to lead, coach and inspire staff across the PE department, helping them to engage and enthuse learners of all abilities in physical education. At Whitcliffe Mount, we want all our students to enjoy PE and to become confident, independent learners. We want our staff to feel supported and inspired to achieve their personal best.

The successful candidate will strategically lead a large physical education department, with the support from the school’s leadership team. They will continue to raise standards, outcomes and promote the benefits exercise to all, helping to further develop physical education at Whitcliffe Mount School.

Whitcliffe Mount School

Whitcliffe Mount School is a large secondary school of 1,250 students in years 7 to 11. Our new purpose-built school was opened in 2017 and boasts state of the art, specialist facilities across the breadth of the curriculum. We are located just off Junction 25 of the M62 and in close proximity to, and within easy access of Huddersfield, Bradford and Leeds.

The leadership team are embracing the trust philosophy of “valuing people, supporting personal best” and are embedding these values into their daily practice, and into the vision and aims of the school.
