What skills and experience we're looking for

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Technology to join The Portsmouth Academy. You will be joining our team of creative, supportive and dynamic staff to teach Years 7-11.The Head of Technology will have responsibility for both the Food & Nutrition and Design & Technology curriculum and outcomes. You will be passionate about teaching and learning coupled with the ability to lead and line manage. Applications from practitioners with an expertise in Food & Nutrition are especially welcome as the successful candidate will be the subject lead in this area.The academy has two specialist Food and Nutrition rooms and two Design & Technology workshops supported by 3 technicians.

• A qualified teacher of Food & Nutrition able to deliver to KS3 and KS4, with a sound knowledge of the Design & Technology curriculum
• Passionate about teaching, learning and improving the life chances of our students
• Outstanding classroom practice with high expectations for achievements and behaviour
• Be able to plan and deliver a creative and stimulating curriculum
• High expectations for yourself and the students to ensure that all achieve their very best
• An aspiring leader of learning and happy to grasp exciting CPD opportunities
• Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our schools
