Required from January 2026

Do you have a desire to work within a large pastoral team and develop strong relationships with students and their families? Are you ready for your next challenge? If the answer is yes, then joining our team of current Heads of Year, and working alongside our highly experienced and supportive wider team of student welfare and support, safeguarding, work related learning, character development and behaviour might be just the opportunity you are looking for! As one of our Heads of Year, through energetic and innovative leadership, you will develop the ethos unique to your allocated year of approximately 275 students. You will be instrumental in delivering Myton’s core aims and ensure that students make outstanding progress by removing barriers to their personal, social or learning development.

You will need significant experience in building positive and trusting relationships with young people and be able to use a range of strategies to manage challenging behaviour and difficult situations, as well as the skills and confidence to communicate effectively with large audiences.  You will also be an inspirational leader of others, able to enthuse and engage colleagues in a shared vision for, and culture of, improving achievement and also challenge and support colleagues appropriately.

As well as being academic, we are also highly inclusive and want all students to develop a love for learning. As a happy and purposeful community, we offer students an exciting curriculum and a huge range of extra-curricular opportunities within a safe, secure and supportive environment. With enduring values of care and mutual respect we support hard-working staff as well as students and families. Our team are also looking to welcome a motivated teacher, with a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring students to love learning and excel. As an experienced teacher, you may well need to adapt and teach out of specialism to help and support departments across the school.

We have an extremely active staff wellbeing group who organise events and Teaching and Learning team who provide incentives for sharing best practice.

In short, we are a popular, high performing school with academy status, situated between Warwick and Leamington Spa with a strong community spirit. Our staff offer students a massive range of extra-curricular opportunities in addition to a wide curriculum and we would be delighted to expand this further if you have additional time and talents to share.

You will have access to a range of personal and professional development opportunities plus Westfield Health benefits and Staff Wellbeing initiatives to support you along the way.

If you feel you share our values, have the vision and drive for excellence and want to be part of an enthusiastic and dedicated team, committed to ensuring that students fulfil their potential, then we would like to hear from you.

We are part of Stowe Valley Multi Academy Trust, led by Southam College (an Ofsted Outstanding school). This has enhanced our ability to offer inspirational and supportive leadership and CPD for all of our staff.
