We are in search of an exceptional educator with strong pastoral abilities to lead as our Head of Year 7. The postholder will ensure that all students receive the necessary support to excel academically, whilst also focusing on their wellbeing and personal development.

The successful candidate will work as a key member of our Student Support and Development team. This talented and ambitious team is well led and structured, ensuring our students are fully supported. The postholder will play a key role in supporting our stated ambition for 90% of students to achieve a minimum of grade 4 in GCSE English and Maths by 2028 and beyond. Exceptional professional development opportunities are available. For example, recently two of our Heads of Year have recently completed the NPQ for Leading Behaviour and Culture, led in collaboration with the Ambition Institute.

While we prefer candidates with expertise in Maths, Music, Religious Studies or Science, we are open to outstanding educators from any subject area.

New Forest Academy is a successful and popular 11-16 community school adjacent to the New Forest National Park and we are proud to serve the South Waterside community in Hampshire.

As a small school we are fortunate to be able to really get to know each and every student. Staff who work here see this a real benefit and you will join a school where tailored CPD and effective communication is firmly embedded. We are a 'good' school, with outstanding features.

Our vision is to enable ambitious futures for all members of our academy community. We strive to ensure that expert teaching of our exciting curriculum allows students from all backgrounds to fulfil their academic potential. We achieve this by sequencing the most important and compelling knowledge backwards from ambitious curriculum aims, and adapting what we teach to our local context. Our passionate team of subject experts deliver chosen content through research-based, best practice approaches. We provide exceptional opportunities to develop the unique interests and talents of our students, and to prepare them for life in modern Britain. Strong relationships and first-class support across the community ensure that students are safe, happy and successful.
If you are successful, you will join a school where all colleagues play their part and contribute to whole school improvement through our distributed leadership model. If you embody these values and have high expectations, you will be very successful working with us.
