Are you ready to embark on a rewarding journey within an educational community that values diversity, encourages collaboration, and celebrates excellence? We are looking to appoint 2 non-teaching Head of Years who will oversee the general welfare, progress, behaviour and overall pastoral needs of students in a specified year group and to address pastoral needs of students who require assistance in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential.  


Key responsibilities:

Reporting to SLT link, this post holder will be accountable for: 


  • To lead on co-ordinating appropriate interventions for students in your year group whose attendance, behaviour or achievement is a concern
  • To manage and implement all required sanctions 
  • To advise first aid staff on sending sick students home, where applicable
  • To follow all safeguarding procedures and to work closely with child protection leads to ensure identified students are closely monitored.
  • To contribute ideas to the development and improvement of pastoral support assisted by information and experiences of good practice in other establishments 


Pay range: SCP 10-15 £20,731.50 - £22,475.93 (FTE: £26,835 - £29,093)

32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Qualifications and Skills:


  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent
  • Proven record of raising standards and pupil achievement 
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a school environment 
  • Effective behaviour management skills
