Head of Year - Teaching job summary
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated teacher to lead on the pastoral support and achievement of a year group as a Head of year . This post is suited to a candidate with who aspires to drive standards and results across a cohort of students. The successful candidate would ideally be able to teach Science, PE or Computer Science.
The post offers excellent opportunities for you to develop your leadership skills. We are a school focussed on growing leaders and offer excellent CPD and leadership through being a member of United Learning.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, and, ideally, be able to show evidence of ongoing professional development.
Demonstrate outstanding teaching practice and excellent behaviour management.
Have experience of lesson observations and giving robust feedback.
Have experience of improvement planning and of implementing a range of strategies to raise student achievement, with evidence of success.
Be able to contribute to improving on the quality of learning and teaching and curriculum.
Have a proven track record of excellent results at KS3 and 4, and, ideally, experience of teaching to KS5.
The leadership team is dedicated not only to academic excellence and character development but also to ensuring that the workload for teachers is balanced, manageable, and well-considered.
