What is the job role?

As Headteacher, you will be the driving force behind the school’s continued success and future development.

You will:

  • Set a clear and compelling vision for the school’s next phase
  • Lead and inspire a committed staff team to deliver exceptional outcomes
  • Champion high-quality, inclusive SEND provision for pupils with complex needs
  • Ensure safeguarding, well-being, and dignity are at the forefront of all decisions
  • Build strong partnerships with families, the Local Authority and external agencies
  • Drive continuous improvement through strategic leadership and effective use of data

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS, all relevant safeguarding and pre-employment clearances, and the receipt of two satisfactory references.

Following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre employment check with effect 1 Sept 22, please note, an online search may form part of this recruitment process.

Tiverton School is a Primary aged broad spectrum special school.

We are seeking to appoint to the post of Deputy Head Teacher. The successful candidate will be a leader who is highly motivated, knowledgeable and enthusiastic practitioner who is keen to share in the leadership and management of the school and be committed to their own succession planning.

Applicants will need to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of a wide range of SEND and be responsible for strategic quality assurance of Quality of Education, Personal Development, Behaviour and Attitudes and Safeguarding.
