Stretham Community Primary School is a thriving village school with 187 pupils on roll, known for its strong community roots and welcoming, family‑focused ethos. An inspirational Headteacher who can lead our school with integrity, vision and a deep commitment to excellence. Working in partnership with Governors, you will build strong community links and foster a culture of high expectations, shared accountability and a love of learning. You will champion an innovative, enriching curriculum that develops inquisitive, independent and confident young learners.

We are looking for a leader who:

Essential

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status and a degree-level qualification.
  • Has senior leadership experience in a primary setting with a proven record of raising attainment.
  • Communicates with clarity, confidence and empathy, engaging effectively with pupils, staff, families and the wider community.
  • Can evaluate complex data, lead curriculum development and articulate a clear vision of outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrates integrity, resilience and the ability to motivate and unite staff behind shared goals.
  • Understands the importance of enrichment, high-quality learning behaviours and rigorous, supportive performance review.
  • Has experience managing and developing teaching and non-teaching staff, with an understanding of budgets aligned to educational priorities.
  • Is committed to the welfare and safeguarding of every child and member of staff.

Desirable

  • Holds the NPQH qualification.
  • Brings experience of teaching across multiple key stages.
  • Has led safeguarding or has strong time-management skills.
  • Shows a commitment to teamwork, effective delegation and professional development for themselves and others.
  • Understands diverse approaches to improving pupil progress and is engaged in wider educational debate.
  • Is willing to take informed risks and embrace new theories and technologies to drive school improvement.
  • Understands governance and can use whole-school systems and resources creatively to improve outcomes.
  • Promotes a positive work-life balance for all.
