Headteacher and Accounting Officer
Required from 1 September 2026
Group 6, L28 to L34 (£100,538 to £116,455)
Are you an ambitious senior leader ready to inspire a whole school community and shape the futures of
remarkable young people?
We are seeking an exceptional Headteacher and Accounting Officer who will lead our school with vision and
determination, ensuring that every student is supported to achieve their very best.
Our students are at the heart of everything we do. They bring enthusiasm and enormous potential to the
school each day and we are incredibly proud of their achievements and aspirations. They deserve a
Headteacher who will champion them relentlessly. Someone who will nurture their ambitions, celebrate their
successes and inspire them to aim even higher.
As a Single Academy Trust (SAT), Light Hall offers a rare leadership opportunity. You will enjoy the autonomy
and influence to shape the school’s strategic direction directly with a committed Trust Board. This
independence enables faster decision making, closer relationships and a genuine ability to drive meaningful,
school centred improvement.
The school is entering an exciting new phase of development. Alongside a strong and established 11-16
provision, a sixth form was launched in 2024 and is growing steadily. This presents a unique opportunity for
the next Headteacher to shape the strategic direction of post-16 education, building a thriving sixth form that
broadens opportunities and raises aspirations for students.
With the support of a dedicated Trust Board and a committed staff team, you will lead the next phase of the
school’s development. We are looking for a Headteacher who can drive forward continued improvements in
academic outcomes whilst also enriching the wider experiences that help shape our students into confident
and capable young people.
You will bring a positive and committed approach to working where challenges exist, but opportunities are
even greater. A genuine commitment to making a lasting difference is essential, along with a belief that every
child deserves the very best education and opportunities to succeed.
The successful candidate will quickly identify priorities and take decisive action to ensure that the progress
of every child is valued and accelerated. You will be a visible, inspirational Headteacher who motivates staff,
supports students and strengthens the trust our community places in the school.
For an influential and ambitious senior leader, this role offers a truly exciting opportunity. As the Headteacher
of a SAT, your leadership will directly shape the school’s vision, culture and long-term direction. It is a chance
to challenge yourself, shape the future of the school and make a meaningful, lasting difference to the lives of
our young people.
If you have the passion, vision and determination to provide the inspirational leadership our dedicated staff
and exceptional students deserve, we would be delighted to hear from you.
The ideal candidate
We welcome applications from senior leaders with a proven track record of impact as a Headteacher or
Deputy Headteacher, combined with a genuine passion for education. You should be proactive, innovative
and resilient, with the integrity to lead by example.
You will also possess:
A strong understanding of strategic, financial and resource management.
The ability to model high-quality teaching based on evidence.
Experience in developing and leading curriculum initiatives.
A commitment to collaborative working with governing bodies.
What makes Light Hall special?

committed to fostering a positive, ambitious and dynamic learning culture.
With our Sixth Form, we have many opportunities to guide and inspire young people, helping them
develop their ambitions, confidence and readiness for the future while strengthening our school
community.
Our students are wonderful ambassadors for the school, whether representing Light Hall at events,
engaging in community activities or supporting younger pupils through mentoring and peer leadership.
They take part wholeheartedly in enrichment, leadership and house activities, showing confidence,
creativity and an inspiring sense of teamwork.

another, helping to build an inclusive and caring community.
