Key responsibilities: 

  • To provide outstanding educational vision, leadership and direction for the Academy, ensuring great pupil outcomes are achieved sustainably, and annual performance targets are met. 
  • To have core responsibility for: teaching and learning, curriculum development, developing teaching staff and creating a culture of safety and happiness within the academy.
  • To work with other E-ACT academies within the region and Trust, to enable and support the sharing of good practice within the Trust, with a strong focus on the quality of teaching and learning.
  • The Headteacher is accountable to E-ACT’s Trustees and is responsible for creating a productive learning environment which reflects E-ACT’s ethos.
  • To implement the People Strategy, fostering a people-first culture that priorities engagement, impact and learning and development.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • To lead in developing and implementing the vision and strategic direction of the Academy 
  • Have a strong commitment to pastoral care and responsible for strategically leading and managing behaviour and attitudes, attendance and safeguarding across the school.
  • Ensure all information required by the Education Director and other key colleagues is produced accurately, timely and efficiently. 
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven senior leadership and management experience in schools.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
