Headteacher job summary

King James Academy Royston, part of the Diamond Learning Partnership Trust, is seeking an inspirational Headteacher to lead the next stage of our school’s journey.

We are a thriving and ambitious through-school for Years 5-11, with huge potential to re-establish our sixth form. Formed in 2019 and now serving around 950 pupils across two sites, we combine the nurturing ethos of a smaller school with the opportunities of a larger institution.

Rated Good in all areas by Ofsted (April 2024), the Academy is proud of its ambitious curriculum, above-average Progress 8 outcomes, and excellent support for pupils with additional needs. Our ethos of Head, Heart and Hand ensures that students not only achieve academically but also develop resilience, creativity, and character.

As Headteacher, you will provide visionary leadership, working closely with staff, governors, and the Trust to raise aspirations and grow pupil numbers. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of a dynamic school, inspire staff and pupils, and strengthen King James Academy as the school of choice in the Royston community.
