What skills and experience we're looking for

With the retirement of our highly respected Headteacher, the governors are seeking a leader with the vision, personality, and strategic thinking to lead one of the most popular schools in the area. You may be seeking your first headship or be an experienced Headteacher looking for a new challenge, but regardless you must have the determination and ambition to lead the academy on its’ journey to be Outstanding.

You will be working with an experienced Senior Leadership Team to lead talented teaching and support staff who are fully committed to the vision of raising standards and transforming the life chances of all students. You must be motivated to lead, with a focus on the quality of education and wider curriculum provision for the students. Your leadership will engender a strong sense of belonging and inclusion. You will promote the power of education inspiring staff and students to aim high and be the best they can be.

If you have a proven track record of school improvement as a senior leader this role offers a fantastic opportunity to lead the future success of Lakelands Academy. You must be motivated to ensure that the school’s mission, vision and values are realised and delivered consistently and effectively. You will ensure that the needs of the young people are met through high quality teaching and support that maximises all pupils’ potential and enables them to become enthusiastic and independent learners.

What the school offers its staff

Our Academy is a community in which students, staff and parents are part of a happy, safe and caring environment. The academy was inspected by Ofsted in January 2022 and was judged to be a “good school” in all four areas where "leaders have high ambitions for all pupil' learning. Pupils including those with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities (SEND) achieve well"
