What skills and experience we're looking for
Qualifications
and experience
Ø QTS
Ø A minimum of 2 years proven leadership and management experience of at least Deputy Head or Assistant Head level in the primary sector
Ø Proven Track record of improving educational standards
Ø Successful development and management of a primary curriculum that challenges both staff and pupils
Ø Involvement in school improvement planning and school self-evaluation
Ø Proven track record of effective people management
Ø Experience of financial management
Leading teaching and learning
Ø Ability to recognise and promote the highest standards of teaching and learning
Ø Proven experience of ensuring the highest possible standards of achievement
Ø Ability to analyse data effectively at school, class and individual level and to utilise this effectively in setting appropriate targets for pupil progress
Ø Detailed knowledge of Safeguarding procedures, protocols and behaviour management strategies
Ø Detailed knowledge of a School’s legal responsibilities in both the national and local context
Ø Awareness and a keen interest in local and national initiatives in Primary education
What the school offers its staff
The Governors of Moorlands Primary School are seeking to appoint a new Headteacher who will sustain and build upon the Moorland’s Primary School’s commitment to the highest standards of teaching, learning and outcomes across the whole school.
Moorlands Primary is a founder member of the Reach Co-Operative Trust and our new Headteacher will take an integral role in its development, working closely with our partners.
We are a 2 form entry school,situated in a wooded 6 acre site in Southampton. The school has a dedicated team of staff, who on a daily basis go above and beyond to support our wonderful children and we believe that “Every Learner Matters”
