Headteacher job summary
We are a one-form entry primary school working hard to make continuous improvements in teaching and learning. This school has experienced a difficult period in the past but has made rapid progress and was rated a ‘good’ school by OFSTED September 2017.
We are now looking to recruit a leader who is passionate about education and is prepared to embrace a challenge – someone who will engage parents and the community in order to enhance the life chances of our pupils. We believe this represents an excellent opportunity for the right person to make an outstanding contribution to shaping the future direction of our school. Moorside is in an area of high deprivation and therefore it is essential that the candidate has enthusiasm and a commitment to improving outcomes for pupils in challenging circumstances.
The successful candidate will take the lead role in continuing our pastoral provision and in supporting inclusion. He or she will be expected to maintain our collaborative work with our partner schools and to consolidate existing positive relationships to assist our pupils in overcoming their particular barriers to learning.
We are looking for a visionary and inspirational leader who:
• Has a successful track record in leadership
• Has a sound understanding of Early Years
• Is able to identify and promote innovative teaching practices to maximise pupil outcomes
• Has the ability to translate enthusiasm into positive team dynamics and culture
Our children would like you to be:
• ‘A person who believes that every child matters and that their voice is listened to’
• ‘A person who is kind, fun and enthusiastic about children and school’
• ‘A person who respects and appreciates the school ethos – Proud to Succeed’
Visits to our school are strongly encouraged: please contact Sue Frankland, School Business Manager, on 01422 365236 to arrange a suitable time.
