Headteacher job summary

About this role

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced, forward-thinking leader to become the next Headteacher of Old Fletton Primary School — a warm, ambitious and proudly inclusive community with a long history of nurturing children to achieve their very best. With our current Headteacher retiring after many years of devoted service, we are seeking someone who can confidently guide the school into its next chapter while honouring the culture and values that make Old Fletton such a special place to learn and work.

You will be joining a school rooted in strong relationships and a deep sense of collective purpose. Our pupils are enthusiastic, articulate and full of curiosity; they value the adults who support them and take real pride in their school. Staff describe Old Fletton as a vibrant, collegial and positive environment where professional growth is encouraged and where everyone contributes to the success of the whole community.

The school itself blends rich heritage with modern ambition. With outstanding attendance, excellent academic outcomes and a commitment to inclusive practice, Old Fletton is well placed for continued improvement. Our nurturing environment and strong collaboration with families and external partners ensure that every child is supported to flourish, whatever their starting point.

As Headteacher, you will shape and lead the strategic direction of the school, ensuring high-quality teaching, a broad and purposeful curriculum and a culture where every member of the community feels valued. You will be supported by a committed Governing Body and benefit from established networks with local leaders.
