The governors of Oxon CE Primary School are seeking to appoint an inspiring, highly effective, enthusiastic and committed headteacher. Our school is located on the western side of the county town of Shrewsbury. Oxon is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England Primary School which has close links with Oxon Parish Church.

Oxon is a large primary school with approximately 420 children on roll. It is situated on the western side of Shrewsbury in an area that has seen a considerable number of new houses built in the last thirty years. Over that time the school has grown from two classes to fourteen classes. For the last thirteen years the school has been close to capacity.

The headteacher provides outstanding and visionary leadership. He has been determined and successful in providing the very best teaching.
The headteacher is extremely well supported by the deputy headteacher and other leaders who share his commitment to providing the very best for pupils across the school.

Pupils make outstanding progress from their different starting points. The very large majority of pupils reach or exceed age-related standards in reading, writing and mathematics.
