Headteacher job summary

The Governors of this thriving, popular and friendly junior school are seeking to appoint an inspirational and innovative Head Teacher with effect from September 2022.

We are a Trauma Informed School that truly values the principles of inclusivity and diversity. We pride ourselves on being a forward thinking school that delivers a Topic based approach to education.

Governors are looking for someone who will have a rigorous approach to achieving high educational standards while also maintaining a strong focus on staff and pupil well-being. Consequently the successful applicant will need to demonstrate high quality teaching ability, enthusiasm, compassion and vision coupled with excellent management and leadership skills within a primary school setting. In return they will have the support of a committed and talented staff group alongside a supportive governing body all of whom are dedicated to improving the life chances of all the children in our school.

Our school motto is ‘Learning Together, Free to Fly’ and the children of St. Ives Junior School certainly embody this and are the best ambassadors for the school. For that reason, I would encourage prospective candidates to visit the school for yourself.

Should you wish to do so please contact our secretary Jo Bassett and we will make the necessary arrangements to show you around. Alternatively if you would like an informal conversation with the chair of governors then please make contact by email initially on chairofgovernors@stivesjunior.org.uk

The salary will be in the Group 2 scale range L11 – 21.
