Headteacher job summary

St John Fisher is a popular, 11–18 mixed voluntary aided comprehensive in the Diocese of East Anglia. The school was again judged by Ofsted as a ‘Good’ school in all areas in June 2023. The school was also judged to be ‘Outstanding’ again in all areas by Diocesan inspectors in 2022.

The school is situated in the heart of Peterborough and is over-subscribed. Pupils of diverse cultures come mainly from the Catholic feeder schools in the area and the local community. The excellent manner in which pupils co-operate with each other and show mutual respect is key to the schools’ community feel, underpinned by strong Catholic values.

The governors are seeking:

A practising Catholic who is committed to nurturing the Catholic ethos of the school.

An inspirational leader who will guide the school on its journey to ‘Outstanding’.

Someone with successful experience of senior leadership in a secondary school with a record of raising achievement.

Someone with energy, vision and ambition who is committed to the success of all pupils.

We offer you:

A school with a Catholic ethos which permeates all we do.

A leadership team, staff and governors who are effective and dedicated to the success and well-being of all pupils.

An exciting opportunity to lead a good and improving school.

An excellent working environment.

Visits to the school are welcome. Please contact Angela Goulding, Headteacher’s PA, on 01733 355505 or angela.goulding@stjohnfisherschool.org.uk.
