What skills and experience we're looking for

The Diocese of Gloucester Academies Trust is delighted to advertise for the post of Headteacher at Clearwater Church of England Primary Academy.  This is a permanent, full-time position from September 2025

This role provides an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced leader to lead a team of passionate teaching and support staff to ensure high quality teaching and learning, building on the strong foundations developed by the outgoing leader.

We are looking for someone who can inspire others, understands what excellent teaching and learning looks like, who inspires trust and confidence and will support children and adults to develop and flourish. We are also looking for someone to share good practice across the Trust’s family of schools.

You must be committed to what it means to be part of a Church of England Trust and to being an excellent Church school leader.

The Trust offers an extensive range of opportunities for professional development and learning, and we will be supportive of your leadership journey and career development. The pastoral care of our Headteachers is also an important part of who we are as an organisation, knowing that Headteachers care very deeply for all they serve but often do not prioritise their own wellbeing. You will be valued for who you are and what you bring to the Trust

We are looking for someone who:

* can clearly articulate a compelling vision of educational excellence

* is passionately committed to the distinctive Church of England ethos of the school

* inspires, leads and motivates all staff and pupils to give of their best

* is committed to the Trust’s vision of inclusive education

* can build excellent relationships with all stakeholders

* is committed to collaboration with neighbouring schools and wider Trust schools.

Clearwater Church of England Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for the successful candidate.

Clearwater Church of England Primary is an academy and is part of the Diocese of Gloucester Academies Trust (DGAT).

We can offer you:

* the full and able support of senior leaders, staff and local governors who are ambitious for the school.

* the opportunity to be part of an extended leadership team across the Trust

* CPD, professional support and career development in a highly successful and growing organisation

* a supportive parent body

The Trust has an extensive CPDL offer and is committed to supporting the wellbeing of all staff across our family of schools. We provide a free and confidential employee assistance scheme and there is a well being champion in each school. We have a successful cycle to work scheme available to all staff.

Commitment to safeguarding
