Headteacher job summary
We are looking for an exceptional Headteacher — someone with the experience, ambition, and values to lead one of Southend's most respected special schools. You will have a proven track record in senior SEND leadership, a deep commitment to pupils with complex needs, and the personal qualities to inspire a talented staff team and build strong relationships with families and the wider community. Above all, you will share our belief that every young person at St. Christopher deserves the very best.
We have put together this recruitment pack to give you a genuine sense of who we are — our pupils, our staff, our values, and what we are looking for in our next Headteacher. We hope it gives you not just information, but a feeling for what makes St. Christopher such a special place to work.
We warmly encourage you to visit the school before you apply. There is no substitute for seeing our pupils and staff in action, and we would love the opportunity to show you around and answer any questions you have. To arrange a visit or have an informal conversation about the role, please contact Dan Woodman, CEO-Designate.
