What skills and experience we're looking for
For an ambitious, motivated and dedicated leader, the headship of this successful school in the Borough of Redbridge offers a sound foundation for you to have impact, where commitment and our Catholic ethos underpin ongoing improvement. As our current Head retires after a distinguished and lengthy career at the school, the Governors look forward to working with a new Head on the next stage of the school’s development.
Our School
A mixed, voluntary aided, Catholic school in the Diocese of Brentwood, the atmosphere in Trinity Catholic High School offers a calm, purposeful learning environment, creating a unique oasis in Woodford, where student attendance is high, the school community lives the gospel values and the school is oversubscribed. We have the challenges of operating on a split site, maintaining a balanced budget, aspirations for extended facilities and have a readiness to enhance our teaching & learning and pursue innovation to address the ever-changing demands of the curriculum.
We have a newly refreshed and open-minded Governing Body, eager to support pioneering leadership, wishing to appoint a Head who is a practising Catholic, will appreciate and protect our ethos and offer model leadership based on Christian values. We offer an excellent platform to extend the leadership career of someone who is seeking a personal challenge to drive improvement, refine management, sharpen up areas of teaching & learning and rethink our sixth-form offer to grow years 12 and 13. Belief in allowing students to be themselves and developing their potential beyond the classroom would blend well with our culture.
We are open to applications from those with extensive Catholic school experience: current Heads, or Deputies who can demonstrate strong leadership experience and ambition, familiarity with split phase or vertical school structures being beneficial.
As a leader with good visible presence, coupled with astute analytical skills, able to identify solutions, delivering firm but focused direction while retaining a genuine sense of community, you would be welcomed. We seek a talented communicator who works effectively and inclusively with people, able to engender cooperation and be an assertively motivational team leader. Above all, our new Head will agree a vision for the future with the Governing Body and receive our full support to deliver it.
