Health & Safety Advisor job summary
The Trust is looking to appoint an energetic and innovative H&S practitioner preferably with experience in the Education Sector. You should be well organised and able to work well unsupervised and able to provide accurate and practical advice and solutions to a diverse workforce across the Trust's estate.
Reporting to: Health, Safety & Estates Manager
Job Context: Advise on health and safety management to assist the Trust, School & Health, Safety & Estates Manager in the delivery of Health & Safety.
To provide a professional health and safety advice, guidance and support service.
Advise on statutory requirements for health and safety management and assists the Trust to meet these requirements.
Conduct H&S audits and fire risk assessments, produce and back brief the findings to the school.
Supports and facilitates the interpretation and implementation of Trust and School strategies for the management of health and safety risks.
Act as an autonomous practitioner undertaking unsupervised activities of a more complex nature where more complex in this instance means those environmental situations classified as low to medium risk. An example of this would include, schools, medium risk commercial clients and low to medium risk construction projects e.g. single storey extensions, Multi Use Plays Area etc.
Deliver accredited H&S training such as Risk assessment etc.
The post-holder will require to meet the requirements of Safer Recruitment as outlined in (Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025) e.g. Enhanced DBS etc
