The Trustees at Victorious Academies Trust would like to appoint a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant at Discovery Academy, Porlock Avenue, Hattersley. SK14 3LE.

To start: November 2025

Higher-Level Teaching Assistant full-time salary £31,022-£33,699

This is a permanent, part-time role, 32.5 hours per week, Term Time Only Plus Inset Days with an actual salary of £23,966- £26,034 (TMBC Grade F, Points 17-22)

The Higher-Level Teaching Assistant role start time will be from 08:30 to 15:30.

Our Trust’s vision is to support young people to develop the aspiration, motivation and to be successful; we have high ambitions for all young people in our academies and all roles at our Academy are central to ensuring that we work to support this.

The Local Governing Board of Discovery Academy wish to appoint a teaching assistant level 4 wellbeing mentor.

The successful candidate will be part of a team delivering pastoral/wellbeing provision across the school and with the primary aim of removing and overcoming barriers to

learning for children who are vulnerable, open to services or requiring support to ensure that they fulfil their educational and wider potential. Barriers could be internal or

external and include issues surrounding safeguarding, poor home engagement and support, attendance and behaviour.

The post holder will support the leadership and pastoral team by attending meetings with social care and external agencies. They will keep accurate records and support with ensuring that the correct provision is in place or signposting is available for children and their families both within and outside of school. Additionally, the role will include supporting children within the school setting.

Candidates should have experience of working with children and families, running all levels of social care plans from EHA, attending meetings, keeping accurate records and writing plans and reports.
