Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking to appoint a lively, enthusiastic qualified Higher-Level Teaching Assistant who sets the highest of standards.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and seeking a challenge, who is a team player with excellent communication skills. You must understand the importance of adapting practice to support the needs of individual children. You will have experience of working in a school setting. You will hold a Level 4 qualification related to teaching and learning or equivalent - without this qualification, you will not be considered for an interview. Ideally, you will have previous experience of supporting as an HLTA

This role involves working closely with teachers from Early Years to Year 4. For most of the week you would be teaching a class of children while the teacher is released for their planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) time, if the teacher is required to attend meetings or if there is short term absence.

You would be expected to deliver lessons (based on teacher's planning) and to mark the work at the end of the lessons and feedback to the teacher.
