We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant school community on a one-year fixed-term contract.

About the Role

As a HLTA, you will play a key role in shaping the educational journey of our pupils. Working under the guidance of class teachers and senior leaders, you will lead learning activities, support whole-class teaching, and deliver interventions that help every child reach their full potential.

You will:

  • Deliver and plan lessons during teacher PPA time or staff absence.
  • Support pupils with a range of needs, ensuring safety, inclusion, and engagement.
  • Promote positive behaviour and act as a role model.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, resource management, and administrative tasks.
  • Provide feedback on pupil progress and behaviour.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom times, including lunchtimes and trips.
  • Support the use of ICT and help pupils develop digital skills.
About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has at least 2 years’ experience working with or caring for children in an educational setting.
  • Holds a HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Has strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths).
  • Understands the national curriculum and how to support learning across subjects.
  • Is confident, enthusiastic, and motivated with a commitment to inclusion and safeguarding.
  • Can build strong relationships with pupils and staff and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Is resilient, adaptable, and eager to contribute to the wider life of the school.
