We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant school community on a one-year fixed-term contract.
About the RoleAs a HLTA, you will play a key role in shaping the educational journey of our pupils. Working under the guidance of class teachers and senior leaders, you will lead learning activities, support whole-class teaching, and deliver interventions that help every child reach their full potential.
You will:
- Deliver and plan lessons during teacher PPA time or staff absence.
- Support pupils with a range of needs, ensuring safety, inclusion, and engagement.
- Promote positive behaviour and act as a role model.
- Assist with classroom preparation, resource management, and administrative tasks.
- Provide feedback on pupil progress and behaviour.
- Supervise pupils during non-classroom times, including lunchtimes and trips.
- Support the use of ICT and help pupils develop digital skills.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has at least 2 years’ experience working with or caring for children in an educational setting.
- Holds a HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
- Has strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths).
- Understands the national curriculum and how to support learning across subjects.
- Is confident, enthusiastic, and motivated with a commitment to inclusion and safeguarding.
- Can build strong relationships with pupils and staff and work effectively as part of a team.
- Is resilient, adaptable, and eager to contribute to the wider life of the school.
