What skills and experience we're looking for

Blue Coat are looking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with enthusiasm and flexibility to provide PPA cover and teaching staff absence cover in the classroom across KS1 & KS2 and also assist with managing staff cover organisation. The post also includes time out of the classroom delivering small group and 1:1 pupil interventions. The candidate will, therefore, need to be flexible and well organised.

Applicants should have a good understanding of the primary curriculum. They should have a commitment to high standards, both across the curriculum and in terms of their relationships with children.

The school leadership structure is in the form of our Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher and our Business Manager. We currently have 18 class teachers (from NQTs to Upper Pay Scale 3) and 15 teaching assistants who are supported by a dedicated team of administrative and support staff.

Blue Coat School, founded in 1693, is a popular and successful Voluntary Aided school situated in the town of Wotton-under-Edge. Situated 10 minutes from the M5 and only a short drive from Stroud, Tetbury and Thornbury, our school is within the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The school site is now 22 years old and is surrounded by the views the area is renowned for.

Our admissions number is 45 and we currently have 315 children on roll organised into ten classes comprising of:-
