We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children, able to inspire and cultivate learning behaviors and build strong relationships.
The successful candidate will be able to complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ achievement, progress and development.
The HLTA will be Responsible for the management and development of a specialist area within the school and/or management of other teaching assistants including allocation and monitoring of work, appraisal and training.
We will expect you to be reflective about your own practice and keen to contribute to your own learning and professional development. However, first and foremost, we are looking for the right person to add to our special team.

- Has the enthusiasm and talent to contribute to extra-curricular and community life at our school
- Has highly effective communication skills and a commitment to working well in partnership with parents, colleagues and outside agencies
- Is able to assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils’ learning
- Can contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans in partnership with teacher/SENCO
- Promotes the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom
