Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary

The Academy wishes to appoint an HLTA with previous experience in children’s learning to join our Support Staff team. We are looking for someone who is flexible, adaptable, has a willingness to be reflective and is able to work effectively in a close-knit school team for the benefit of all the children at our school.

The role will be to cover teachers’ PPA 3 afternoons a week and 1 half day to cover leadership time. This will involve responsibility for children’s learning, as directed the Headteacher/Assistant Headteacher/Class Teacher.

The post is part-time as follows:

Hours of Work: 1 – 3 pm 3 days a week, 8 am – 12 pm one day a week, to be confirmed

Rate of pay: Dorset Grade 9, SCP 19-25 (£15.43 - £17.59 per hour) plus holiday pay pro-rata

Qualification in English/literacy and mathematics/numeracy, equivalent to at least Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework

Assessed by an accredited Assessor as having met the HLTA standards
