The Trustees at Victorious Academies Trust would like to appoint a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant at Gamesley Primary School, Grindleford Grove, Gamesley, Glossop, Derbyshire SK13 6HW.

Higher-Level Teaching Assistant Full-time Salary £31,022 - £33,699
The role is permanent, full-time 36 hours per week, Term Time Only with an actual salary £26,547 - £28,838 (Grade F Point 17-22).
We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our specialist resource base supporting primary-aged pupils with additional needs, primarily autism. This is a unique opportunity to work within a small, nurturing setting while still being part of a vibrant mainstream school community.
The specialist base provides a structured, low-arousal environment where pupils receive tailored teaching, emotional support, and opportunities to develop social communication, independence, and life skills. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality learning experiences and ensuring that each child’s individual needs are met.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities for a small group of children, ensuring they can access the curriculum at an appropriate level.
• Lead small-group and 1:1 interventions, including communication, sensory regulation, social skills, and academic tasks.
• Use specialist strategies (e.g., visual supports, TEACCH principles, structured routines, de-escalation techniques) to support pupils with autism.
• Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher, SENDCo, and multi-agency professionals.
• Contribute to assessment, record-keeping, and reporting on pupil progress.
• Promote independence, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour in line with pupils’ individual support plans.
• Provide supervision during transitions, playtimes, and other unstructured parts of the school day.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
The proposed timescale for the selection and interview process is as follows:
• Applications close at 09:00 on Monday 15th December 2025 although the Trust reserve the right to close the process early if suitable candidates are identified through our selection process.
• Interviews will take place on Tuesday 18th December 2025
