What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking three enthusiastic individuals who are flexible, organised and are passionate about supporting the teaching and learning for young people who have medical or mental health needs.
For one post we are particularly looking for someone with experience of cover supervision of KS3 & KS4 pupils, delivering pre-planned lessons in core subjects. It is envisaged that this HLTA position will mainly be part of the Outreach Teaching Team, working mostly 1:1 with pupils in their homes or school or a community setting.
The other two posts will mainly be based at the new, purpose built, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) called ‘The Meadow Unit’ due to open in May 2023. The Meadow Unit is based next to the existing Highfield Adolescent Unit on the Warneford Hospital site and there will be opportunities for collaborative working across both sites.
All our staff are all subject to redeployment across all of our settings according to pupil need.

We would encourage and warmly welcome enquiries. There is an Open Day at The Meadow Unit on Saturday 25th February which you’d be encouraged to attend. Full details will be on our website nearer the time.
Commitment to safeguarding
Safer Recruitment - Oxfordshire Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All applicants are required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining a post.
