POST: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)


START DATE: As soon as possible


SALARY: SP9 -SP13 (£22,253 - £24,632)


LOCATION: Duke of Lancaster School, Fakenham, Norfolk


CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent 37 hours per week/39 weeks per year


WORKING ARRANGEMENTS: Monday to Thursday: 08:00 to 16:00, Friday: 08:00 to 15:30 - includes 30 minute unpaid break each day.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join Duke of Lancaster School.

The postholder will be required to help provide a safe and secure educational and caring environment in which children with moderate learning difficulties will receive specialist teaching to develop the self-respect, self confidence, self-control, self-advocacy and self-dependence necessary for participation as members of their community. The post holder will support teaching which will promote each student’s intellectual, physical, social, emotional, moral and spiritual development.

The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Academies Trust (SENDAT) is a Multi-Academy Trust whose provisions support a range of needs including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health and Behavioural (SEMH) needs. Our core aim is to provide for the continuum of special needs across the Eastern region. All SENDAT schools and alternate provisions have Trauma Informed practices embedded across the curriculum and SENDAT staff colleagues are given training and support to develop and use these skills in their day-to-day working.
