About Egremont Primary School
- Two-form entry academy with 270 pupils on roll and three specialist SEMH bases.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced, reflective and compassionate HLTA who will:
- Deliver high-quality learning activities for individuals, small groups and whole classes (covering planned lessons where required) that raise attainment in literacy and secure strong foundation knowledge across the curriculum.
- Lead targeted interventions to accelerate progress for disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND, including pupils in our SEMH bases.
- Support teachers in planning, preparing and adapting resources to meet diverse needs; deliver differentiated learning and scaffolded tasks to promote independence.
- Monitor pupil progress, contribute to assessment and record-keeping, and use data to inform effective intervention work.
- Implement behaviour strategies and support pupils’ social, emotional and mental health needs with sensitivity and high expectations.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies to support pupils’ academic progress and well‑being.
- Support EYFS provision and early literacy development, contributing to a strong foundation for learning.
- Contribute to whole-school priorities including curriculum implementation, character education and pupil leadership.
About you — the qualities we are seeking
You will be someone who:
- Has high expectations for all pupils and a commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Holds HLTA status (or equivalent Level 4 qualification and substantial experience) — candidates working towards HLTA status will be considered where appropriate support is available.
- Is skilled at delivering early literacy support and building strong foundations across the primary curriculum.
- Demonstrates patience, resilience and strong behaviour management; you understand how to support pupils with SEMH and SEND sensitively and effectively.
- Thrives working collaboratively and contributes positively to school improvement priorities.
- Is reflective, open to feedback and eager to develop professionally through trust-wide networks and targeted CPD.
