to start at Emerson Valley Junior School

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

To commence September 2025

Permanent/ part time

Salary Grade F - £31,067 – £35,235 pro rata p.a £24,337 - £27,602 actual p.a

33.5 hours per week, term time (39 weeks per year)

Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm, with a 30-minute unpaid break.

In addition, you will be required to work until 4:30pm on three days per week. This includes:

1 hour of administrative time

2 hours supporting after-school clubs

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team. This role involves working closely with teachers to plan, organise, and support teaching and learning activities across the school. You will lead learning with individuals and groups under the guidance of a qualified teacher.

As part of this role, you will also provide regular class cover, as well as ad hoc cover across both Emerson Valley Junior School and Merebrook Infant school.

An interest in teaching music would be an advantage, but it is not essential.

The ideal candidate will: -

Have experience providing class cover (scheduled and ad hoc)

Have experience of working with children with a SEND need.

Want to make a difference to the children in our care.
