Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Rowan Gate Tennyson Road /Rowan Gate Wilby sites job summary

The role of a HLTA is to complement the professional work of our Early Years teachers, supporting the delivery of the Early Years curriculum, by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ achievement, progress and development.

The focus of this role will be to undertake PPA and Leadership time cover for classes in Early Years.

In line with the HLTA standards promote the involvement of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school

Enable pupils to become more independent learners

Help to raise standards of achievement for all pupils

To provide general care and welfare to all pupils

This role is required at work at the Rowan Gate Tennyson Road site on three days per week and one day at the Rowan Gate Wilby site.

The successful candidate must be able to travel between our Rowan Gate Sites.

As with all our vacancies, successful candidates should be able and willing to work at any of our sites or the satellite classes. As far as possible staff will be allocated to a specific site on an annual basis but travel between sites may be necessary on occasion.
