Springwell Learning Community is the umbrella name for Springwell Special Academy and Springwell Alternative Academy. Springwell Special Academy provides cross-phase education for Barnsley children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties SEMH.

THE ROLE
This is a part time fixed term contract. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant HLTA you will be supporting outstanding progress in learning. You will make connections, develop relationships and lead our pupils on the path to a bright future. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher/ phase lead to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day. This includes:
Supporting and leading a class
Ability to form relationships and communicate effectively
Manage student behaviour in the classroom and handle disruptive behaviour, always promoting a positive learning environment
Completing pupil records with regular feedback to senior colleagues
Flexible to cover other classes and act up where necessary
Using your experience to lead enrichment groups
Be involved and active with all activities we as a school may promote
Direct junior staff
THE CANDIDATE
Experience in a school or similar setting
Experience working with children/ young people with SEN / SEMH needs
Educated with GCSE Maths and English
Level 3 qualification with desire to complete Level 4
HLTA qualification or relevant experience
Car driver with access to own vehicle

SALARY/ HOURS Starting salary for HLTA is FTE £34,314 (Full Time equivalent this would be pro-rata based on working 4 days per week/ term time and contract period) workingTerm time only + 5 inset days + amazing benefits working for our Wellspring trust Seeking someone to start in the New Year till end of the academic year July 25 (permanent opportunities may be available after this)
