Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) job summary
You will have a talent for engaging children and will be required to work flexibly across all age groups and abilities and be committed to achieving excellent outcomes for students.
Working closely with teachers you will inspire and engage learners, supporting their progress and covering classes when required, and assist in the planning, differentiation, and delivery of intervention strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, while promoting their well-being through guidance, encouragement, and pastoral support.
The role requires the ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, ensuring they feel valued, listened to, and confident in sharing their ideas and questions.
You will be responsible for:
- Working with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
- Promoting pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.
- Support learning activities, monitor their effectiveness, and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
- Giving support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
