Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) job summary

St Paul’s Church of England Combined school are seeking a full-time Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work full-time (term-time only) working with our teaching times to continue to raise the learning and achievement of all children. We are looking for an experienced, qualified HLTA who has previously worked in a school and who has achieved a Level 4 Teaching Assistant Qualification or HLTA qualification or above or be prepared to work towards an HLTA qualification. The ideal candidate will have had experience with a range of children from Nursery to Year 6 and those with SEND. The ideal applicant will be someone who can work on their own initiative as well as in partnership with class teachers and other support staff and who is prepared to be a flexible team member of our whole school community. In this role, you will work delivering targeted interventions, supporting whole-class teaching and delivering some teaching. You will help create a calm, nurturing environment where all children can succeed.

Hours will be from 8:30am to 3.30pm with the addition of some lunchtime supervision. The role will be for 32.5 hours weekly term-time only. We are looking for someone with strong experience working with SEMH needs, ability to step confidently into an HLTA role, a patient, empathetic and proactive approach and someone reliable, flexible and wanting to work as part of a brilliant team.
