Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) job summary

JOB TITLE: HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT (HLTA)

GRADE / SP: SP9-13

CONTRACT: 37 hours per week / 39 weeks per year

REPORTS TO: Head of School via Assistant Head

We are looking for an HLTA to work with the Sunrise School students.

You will work with small groups, cover classes and lead in specific areas as directed by the Senior Leadership Team.

You will work as part of a close-knit and supportive SENDAT team to provide a safe and secure educational and caring environment for students with SEMH. You will help ensure that they receive specialist teaching and support tailored which meets their individual needs and facilitates their academic progress and personal development, by supporting students in Sunrise School Classes

As part of the SENDAT, we offer:

Sunrise joined SENDAT Trust on 1st April 2022. It was previously called The Everitt Academy. It caters for up to 52 young people with a full EHCP for SEMH in Key Stages 3 and 4.

We are working with the LA to consider taking some Key Stage 2 students in the future.

As at Trust we are committed to trauma informed practice across all our schools and in all policies we work to. We have trained over 30 Level 5 practitioners and have an ongoing commitment to this. To support this work we have developed out TIS umbrella, which aims to show approaches and programmes that we use across the Trust under our overall TIS approach.
