About the Role

We’re looking for a dedicated individual to join the team at Summerswood Primary School, where we are committed to building on our strengths to achieve the best possible outcomes for all children. This role involves providing tailored support to our pupils, helping to foster a learning environment that reflects our school’s values of respect, inclusivity, and ambition.

You will be passionate about making a positive difference to young people’s lives, supporting their development both academically and socially. Your interventions will contribute to our vision of inspiring respectful and self-confident learners and ensuring every child feels valued and supported. A proven track record of working with young people in an educational setting is essential.

The successful candidate will bring a proactive, organised, and caring approach, working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure that students’ health and wellbeing remain central to school life. At Summerswood, we place a high value on mutual trust and respect, and we believe that strong partnerships with families are key to every child’s success.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine impact within a supportive and inclusive school community. If you thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, and you are committed to putting pupils at the heart of everything you do, then we warmly welcome your application to join our team at Summerswood Primary School.

As part of this role, Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) will be expected to support with class cover across the school when required. This may include delivering pre-prepared lessons, maintaining a positive learning environment, and ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher. We welcome applications from individuals with experience in covering classes, as well as those who predominantly work within the classroom as a Teaching Assistant and are looking to develop their skills further. Flexibility, confidence, and a strong understanding of classroom practice are essential, as HLTAs and TAs play a key role in upholding our high standards and supporting pupils’ progress throughout the school day.
