The Directors of this successful, Catholic Secondary school wishes to appoint someone who is passionate about supporting children’s education and development.

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team.

As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting both teachers and students. Your responsibilities will include:


- Delivering learning activities to groups of children where required.
- Supporting the planning and preparation of lessons, as well as contributing to the assessment and tracking of pupil progress.
- Working closely with teachers to support individual students or small groups, including those with additional needs, to ensure they make progress.
- Providing pastoral care and supporting the social and emotional development of pupils.
- Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all children.


About You:

We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent.
- Has previous experience working in a primary, secondary or special school setting.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of the national curriculum and strategies to support pupil progress.
- Is able to manage and support the learning of whole classes, groups, or individuals.
- Has excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Is passionate about children’s learning and committed to their personal development.

It is desirable that you have experience of working in a similar role in an educational environment. We are looking for someone who is flexible, self-motivated, reliable and confident with an enthusiasm for what this role can do for our children and their learning.

The role will include supporting our SEND students within the classroom or 1:1 session, ensuring their access to learning. To assist in the development of appropriate resources to ensure the school supports each identified student’s learning needs. Experience in EAL support would be advantageous.
