About the role
Hob Moor Oaks special school have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to cover teaching and learning responsibilities during teacher’s non-contact time. This a permanent position and is to work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during the school term time.
As a HLTA you will be passionate about teaching and learning and believe in developing the true potential of all our children. You will have a calm and positive disposition, the ability to break down activities into small step teaching and will nurture, inspire, challenge and motivate pupils. Implementing clear boundaries and routines, you will use behaviour management in all areas around school.
You will have the ability to build a good rapport with parents and carers and the wider school community.
Hob Moor Oaks is a mixed need school, this role works across the whole school leading and supporting the teaching and learning for pupils with complex needs such as PMLD, SLD and Autism. Specific training will be offered to the successful candidate to ensure they are confident and competent to meet the needs of our pupils across the school. Phase leaders work closely with groups of classes with curriculum development, ensuring HLTAs have good support and coaching in curriculum progression.
