Hours: Part-time, 33.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only (plus INSET days)

Additional role info: Working Pattern = Monday: 08:30-15:30, Tuesday: 08:30-16:00, Wednesday: 08:30-16:00, Thursday: 08:30-15:30, Friday: 08:30-15:30 with 30 minute lunch.

We are seeking a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (Level 3) with the passion, expertise and commitment to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality education experiences, supporting students both academically and personally, and helping them to thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

As a HLTA, you will complement the work of teachers by planning, preparing and delivering learning activities to individuals, groups and whole classes under an agreed system of supervision. You will use your advanced knowledge and specialist skills to support students in accessing the curriculum, overcoming barriers to learning, and achieving their full potential. You will also contribute to the development of other staff and may oversee specific provisions or supervise colleagues.

This is a term-time only role, offering professional development opportunities within a collaborative and supportive academy environment.

About you:

You will:

  • Hold or be working towards HLTA status (or equivalent qualification/experience).
  • Have advanced knowledge of the national curriculum and safeguarding approaches.
  • Be confident in delivering structured learning programmes and interventions to individuals, groups and whole classes.
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management and the ability to adapt strategies to meet diverse student needs.
  • Be experienced in working with SEND students and committed to inclusive practice.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including empathy, active listening and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Be skilled in planning, assessing and evaluating learning activities and student progress.
  • Be confident using IT systems to support learning and manage records (e.g. SIMs).
  • Be flexible, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Be committed to safeguarding, equality, and continuous professional development.

The interview will consist of a panel interview and a practical task. Candidates will be asked to plan an activity in advance that they will deliver to a group of Year 3 pupils during the interview. The activity should help children learn to take turns and share.
