What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking two enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to provide high-quality cover during teachers’ PPA time across the school. The successful candidates will have a passion for delivering engaging learning experiences and the ability to confidently lead whole-class teaching in a variety of subjects.

In this role, they will work closely with class teachers and senior leaders to deliver pre-planned lessons, ensuring continuity and consistency in pupils’ learning. They will play a key role in maintaining high expectations, supporting behaviour for learning, and creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all pupils can succeed.

We are looking for people who are adaptable, organised and confident in managing a classroom independently. A strong understanding of the primary curriculum and the ability to respond to pupils’ needs is essential. They should be committed to high standards in teaching and learning and support the wider ethos of the school.

You Will Have:

  • A minimum of a Level 3 qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or A-Level equivalent).
  • HLTA status or significant experience delivering whole-class teaching.
  • Experience working in a primary school across a range of year groups.
  • Strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to deliver pre-planned lessons effectively.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills and the confidence to lead a class independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to adapt to different classes and learning needs.

What the school offers its staff

  • A bright, modern, and spacious school environment with access to cutting-edge resources and technology.
  • A collaborative and supportive team dedicated to delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
  • A culture of continuous school improvement and a commitment to professional development.
  • Opportunities to engage in exciting, hands-on learning experiences with students.
  • A welcoming, inclusive community that fosters strong partnerships between home and school.
