What skills and experience we're looking for
Qualifications and Training:
- HLTA status or relevant experience in the planning and delivery of Speech and Language intervention.
- Training in speech and language support strategies.
- GCSE Grade C/Grade 4 and above in English and Maths.
Experience:
- Experience working in a school setting, ideally in a secondary school but primary school experience will also be considered.
- Experience delivering speech and language interventions.
- Experience working closely with students who have a wide variety of SEND.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of speech and language development in children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both in writing and verbally.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures.
- Ability to plan and deliver a sequence of successful intervention lessons using data from professional reports or internal data
- Ability to use a variety of Microsoft Office programmes
- An understanding of other SEND needs that co-occur with speech and language needs.

Welcome to Nunnery Wood High School.
Nunnery Wood High School is an academy in Worcester, Worcestershire, England. It is a co-educational school and a Science College with about 1500 students on roll aged from 11 to 16. In 1983 following a restructuring of schools in Worcestershire the Nunnery Wood Secondary School was renamed Nunnery Wood High School.
The school campus is located on the edge of Worcester, surrounded by some 15 acres (61,000 m2) of gardens and playing fields which it shares with the adjacent Sixth Form College. The school benefits from refurbished or purpose built extensions including facilities for Science, English, Music, Art & Design, Languages and ICT. The school’s sports centre has an all-weather outdoor pitch and athletics track.
