Higher Level Teaching Assistant job summary
This role would require you to cover lessons for sickness or absence and allow leaders to have their additional leadership time. You will be responsible for timetabling your support across all Key Stages.
As an HLTA you will be required to plan the lessons you are delivering and will therefore, be given time to plan these sessions. Training and guidance will be given to ensure you have an understanding of the National Curriculum requirements and the how to plan and deliver successful lessons.
You will be required to teach across both Key Stages and will need a good level of English and Maths to ensure children are taught the correct information. You will have a growing knowledge of Rosenshine's 10 Principals of Instruction that underpins the way we deliver the curriculum and more training, in these principals, will be also give to you during the year.
You will also have excellent communication skills in order to promote a whole school ethos and culture where all staff support children to develop tools and techniques to remove their barriers to learning, to become the best possible version of themselves.
This is an exciting role and will allow our school to move forward with delivering a curriculum which equips children with the skills to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.
