Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Part Time job summary
HLTA - Year 3 and Year 4 classes
Monday and Tuesday 8.30am - 3.45pm (30 minute lunch)
13.5 hours per week, term time only (plus training days)
Level 4a pt 11 - 15 (£25,979 - 27,803 FTE)
Start in September 2024
We are looking for an HLTA who has excellent behaviour and classroom management skills, who is creative, flexible and approachable, is organised and able to follow direction, is resourceful and able to think on their feet and be punctual when arriving at school and for individual lessons.
The successful candidate will be:
- a versatile practitioner who meets the HLTA standards and is able to demonstrate a hardworking ethos
- a efficient practitioner who is able to use his / her own initiative with confidence
- experienced with working across the primary age range and able to supervise work set by the class teacher
- able to supervise classroom activities set by the class teacher
- able to maintain discipline and implement behaviour management strategies inline with school policy and procedure
- able to work with individual pupils, small groups and whole class to deliver agreed lessons and learning objectives
- able to produce reports on performance, behaviour and attainment
- able to monitor student progress
- able liaise and communicate with the class teacher about the children, their learning, strengths and next steps
In addition to maintaining a high standard of performance and professionalism the successful candidate will be expected to set a positive example and should always remember to be punctual courteous, friendly and professional at all times.
On occasions where they are not needed for cover, they might also be released to provide additional support to teachers in classrooms, or to carry out other tasks such as admin support, displaying work etc.
